A Champion for Working Families

Bob Alexander for Congress I’m running for the U.S. Congress because I believe in public service and helping people. As an educator, Peace Corps volunteer, and a community leader, I have answered the call to service for my country. I want to be your representative for change in Congress. I will strongly support working families and individuals, work hard to fix health care, fight for quality education for our children, protect our environment and I will lead the fight to bring our brave service men and women home to re-join their families.

For too long Mike Rogers has represented the wealthy few at the expense of working families, and rubber-stamped the failed policies of President George W. Bush.

I have seen first hand as a teacher the positive impact a caring individual can have in the life of a young person. I have been involved my whole life with helping people; whether fighting to raise the minimum wage for working families, fighting to cover families in need of health care, or working with small businesses to help them provide living wages and health care in a sustainable way

Bob Alexander for Congress Over the last seven years I helped raise the Michigan Minimum Wage that resulted in a 29% increase for low income workers. I worked on the Ingham Access to Health Care Group that expanded health services to cover 16,500 additional Ingham County residents who did not have health care. There is much more to be done. I'm excited to be your representative in Congress, working to address all the concerns of our District. I'm especially excited to work with the farming community. Farmers make up 10% of the 8th District and my experience in the Peace Corps taught me how important family farms are to a community.

I know that one person can make a difference in peoples lives. Now I want to take my experience to Washington, D.C. and fight for Mid-Michigan. My public service has been done with only one thing in mind - to strengthen our great country and its values. I will be our voice for change, achieving the results we need for the hardworking families and individuals of Michigan’s 8th Congressional District.

I will fight to preserve and protect our amazing environment of lakes, rivers and biodiversity. They are a fundamental part of a thriving Michigan economy. I will pursue and support a solid public education where every child learns to thrive and reach for his or her dreams right here in Michigan.

Bob Alexander for Congress Day after day the news blares out scandal and mismanagement disclosing the disservice Mike Rogers and George Bush have wreaked on America and particularly to the citizens of the 8th Congressional District. This election is our opportunity to take back our government. The people of Michigan want to know that they are electing a Congressman who will work hard and play by the rules. I offer a vision of a better future. I will work hard to provide solutions to the problems we all face in our daily lives. I ask you to join me, in this our fight, and I will be our voice for change.
