Bob Alexander: 146, 052 votes; 40.4%

Mike Rogers: 204,070 votes; 56.4%

(Three minor parties received 3.2% of the vote.)

Alexander Ads Go Up on TV

The campaign has produced a 30-second TV spot which focuses on opponent Rogers’ history of voting in lockstep for the devastating policies of George W. Bush, and promotes Alexander’s plans to work for positive change for the residents of the 8th District and all Americans.

The Lansing State Journal, the largest paper in our district, just endorsed us. More and more, the politically savvy crowd is recognizing that we’ve got the right man for the job. We need some cash to get out our message and get out the vote.

Mortgage Reform Plan

Bob met with Sen. Barack Obama at a private reception just before Obama’s “New Energy for America” speech in Lansing, MI yesterday. Afterward, the Alexander for Congress team produced a 30-second television spot and a 60-second radio spot for broadcast, and got both on the air district-wide — on the same day. Michigan’s Eighth District covers three different media markets.
